Stephen has been an enthusiastic club and borough runner for the last 40 years since joining Tower Hamlets AC at the age of 14.
A middle distance runner at heart, his best year was 1989 setting personal best times of 2.00.4 in the 800m and 4.23.3 in the 1500m.
After relocating to South West London, Stephen joined local running club Sheen Shufflers in 2003.
He managed to up his game at the age of 50, showing it’s never too late, by setting personal best times in the 5km (18.14), Half Marathon (1.25.21) and Marathon (3.15.28), but he now just runs for fun after some injury setbacks.
Stephen is keen to pass on his enthusiasm for running and the knowledge he has gained to help others realise their own personal goals.
Stephen is a UKA Event Group coach in both Endurance and Sprints but has a special interest in middle distance running.
Louise discovered the joy of running at 17 years old whilst studying a year in the US in 1991/1992.
On returning to her native country Denmark the following year she joined her local club “Aarhus 1900”. In 1994 she won the Danish senior indoor championship in 400m, the Danish outdoor championship (girls 20-22 years old) in 400hurdles, 800m and 1500m and set the Danish youth record in the 1000m.
This year -after a 25 year break- Louise has decided to run in the European Masters Championship in the 1500meters representing Denmark. She will have to beat her PB set in 1994 of 4.44min in order to achieve a medal. In autumn 2018 Louise joined Thames Valley Harriers middle distance team coached by Dave Wilkinson.
Louise is a level 2 UK athletics coach and is passionate about passing on her running skills to both juniors and adults.
